Welcome to the National Recreation and Park Foundation (NRPF) website! We ask you to consider supporting a cause that is very close to those of us involved with parks and recreation. As you know, there are many challenges facing parks and recreation today, and we must preserve, promote, and protect what we have as a national treasure.
The purpose of the National Recreation and Park Foundation is tosupport research and public awareness of the economic, social and physical value of parks and recreation in creating healthy families and communities for all populations to include educating and reaching the underserved. The Foundation will primarily raise endowment money to ensure the longevity of the movement but will also allocate a small percentage of resources for specific current year projects.
The Foundation is now in its “soft opening” fundraising phase, where we are lining up support from corporations and individuals like yourselves who are fully vested in parks and recreation. Since its inception almost two years ago, the Foundation has made commitments to initiatives that fit its purpose by supporting the National Summit on Environmental Stewardship and the Summit on the Value of Play. To date, we have raised more than $400,000, and our goal is to raise at least $1 million dollars combined from our park and recreation community.
I have been very pleased with our results thus far and I look forward to working with all of you to grow our endowment.
