On behalf of the North Dakota Recreation and Park Association (NDRPA), we are please to pledge to the National Recreation and Park Foundation in honor of Dr. LaVernia Jorgensen.
Dr. Jorgensen has been an influential professional in the field of parks and recreation in North Dakota. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, master's degree from the University of Minnesota, and doctorate from Indiana University. She taught at the University of North Dakota from 1963-1988 as a professor of recreation. She was a founding member of NDRPA and served many capacities, including president.
